Mechanical and Electrical Contractor

RD Energy Solutions Ltd design, supply, install and commission micro renewable energy technologies in the UK domestic, public and private sectors. We are looking for a time-served Mechanical and Electrical contractor to manage a team of heating engineers and electrical contractors. The contractor will also be responsible for expanding the business in the Scottish area. The applicant should hold a valid CSCS card (or equivalent) and be a member of relevant trade organisations, such as CORGI, NIC EIC and/or SELECT. Desirable skills, experience and qualifications of the applicant include:

  • Working at heights
  • Working with DC
  • Working with uninterruptible power supplies
  • Connecting generating equipment
  • Relevant plumbing/heating qualifications (un-vented hot water, etc)
  • Managing a team of contractors
  • Working on live construction sites
  • Carrying out safety method statements and risk assessments
  • Health and safety regulations
  • Producing operation and maintenance manuals
  • Estimating and tendering
  • Operating access and lifting equipment with appropriate IPAF training

Electrical Engineer

RD Energy Solutions Ltd www.rdenergysolutions.com is based in Edinburgh with a UK and international client base. We offer a “one stop solution” service for the design, supply, installation, commissioning and operation of renewable energy technologies to the public, private and domestic sectors.

Our expertise covers micro (BRE accredited Microgeneration installer) through to commercial scale systems for wind, solar, hydro, biomass, and heat pump technologies.
Services include; feasibility studies, resource assessments, system designs, planning and environmental consultancy, procurement consultancy, project management, installation, commissioning and O&M support.  

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team to develop and manage our renewable projects in the UK.  Desirable skills, experience andqualifications of the applicant include:

  • B.Eng or M.Eng in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered (or working towards chartership) with CIBSE or IEE  
  • Experience Surveying, Estimating and tendering
  • Experience with CAD Software.
  • Project Management experience
  • Preparing/reviewing design drawings and procurement packages.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication/reporting skills.
  • High level of ability with Microsoft; Word, Excel and Project.
  • Happy to work in a role with minimal level of guidance and high levels of responsibility.
